Carnahan Building

St. Louis, Missouri (2005)

The City of St. Louis acquired the Carnahan Building from the Federal District Court in 2002.  All judicial functions previously located in the City’s Municipal Courts Building were moved to the newly acquired building.

In preparation for relocating judicial operations, PBA assisted the 22nd Judicial Circuit in developing a space use master plan for the nine story, 556,500 square foot, 16 courtroom building.  We also provided design services to renovate five court rooms, new judges’ chambers and a jury deliberation room.

In 2005, we designed the renovation of the old Federal Court of Appeals courtroom on the fifth floor.  Much of the intricate detailed wood paneling was re-used in the new design, which included state-of-the-art data and security systems integrated with the sheriff departments centralized system.
